Welcome to Mainline South, a gallery compiled by Richard Stiles. The main aim of this gallery is to record the railway scene across Europe. Most of the scenes that interest me are disappearing, with modernisation sweeping away the old (but interesting) infrastructure. My focus is primarily hauled workings, either freight or passenger. A week long excursion to track down Chambery's BB67300s and Clermont Ferrand's BB67400s. Lucky with the sun for part of the trip, and the fresh mountain air in the Alpes was much appreciated. Always a pleasure to be in France. The only down side for me, was the the last Jacquemins (BB25200) had already ceased operations, so I didn't get the opportunity to see one in action.
